Compatibility and Conversion Inquiry for Character Creator Versions
As a developer using Character Creator 3 (CC3), I am considering purchasing Character Creator 4 (CC4) for creating new characters. However, I would like to know if there will be any limitations in serving users who are still on previous versions such as CC3 and iClone 7.
Is there a way to convert characters created in CC4 for use in CC3 and iClone 7? For example, can characters be exported from CC4 as FBX files and then imported into iClone 3DXchange to generate a compatible character for iClone 7? Additionally, is it possible to import these characters into CC3 and create corresponding slider controls? Are there any specific considerations when using ZBrush to adjust the mesh of the character exported from CC4 before importing it into CC3 or iClone 7?
I did change from CC3 to CC4 without checking if CC4 works with iClone7. Spoiler: It doesn't.
And since I bought it and didn't try right away support gave me the middle finger after asking for a refund.
