Issue 12272
FBX Export Failure and Project File Corruption After Using Polygon Reduction
I'm encountering a recurring issue when using the Polygon Reduction object in Character Creator. Below are the details:

Steps to Reproduce:

Open a project in Character Creator (tested in both the latest version and version 4.61).

Apply the Polygon Reduction object to a character accessories like Hair,Cloth and shoes. (Reduced by 20%)

Attempt to export the project to FBX format.

Observe the export failure message. - Screenshot Attached

Save the project after applying polygon reduction.

Attempt to reopen the saved project file.

Actual Result:

FBX export fails with an error message: "FBX export failed."

After saving and reopening the project, an error appears: "Failed to load the file."

The saved project becomes corrupted and cannot be opened again.

Issue persists in both the latest version and after reverting to version 4.61.

Also tested in the trial version of Character Creator 5 with the same outcome.

Expected Result:

FBX export should complete successfully after using the Polygon Reduction object.

The project file should remain stable and openable after being saved.

Please let me know if any logs or additional files are needed for troubleshooting.

Hi Team,

After analyzing the issue step by step, I found that the problem specifically occurs when I apply polygon reduction to a particular object in the scene. Once reduced, I'm unable to export the project to FBX, it throws an "FBX export failed" error. Additionally, if I save the project after this step, the file becomes corrupted and shows a "Failed to load the file" error on reopening.

I’ve tested this in the latest version of CC4.
